Laura Martiniello

Laura Martiniello has been an independent Director of Banca Monte dei Paschi since April 2023; she is also a member of the Appointments Committee and the Risk and Sustainability Committee. She was a member of the Remuneration Committee until December 2023.

She holds a degree in Business Administration and Management from LUISS Guido Carli University, Rome, and a PhD in Economics and Project Financing from LUISS Guido Carli University, Rome. 

She is a chartered accountant and auditor. From 2004 to date, she has worked as an expert accountant in the field of financial planning, company valuations, accounting opinions, concessions and company crises at Studio Fiori & Associati and Studio Tiscini, Rome.

From 2005 to 2011 she was an expert in economic-financial matters at the Technical Unit for Project Financing of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers. She has participated in working tables with public administrations, institutions, foundations and research centres in Italy and in the working groups of the European PPP Expertise Centre (EPEC). She has also supported the CIPE in the evaluation of the economic-financial plans of strategic infrastructures in the framework of the Legge Obiettivo.

From 2015 to 2022 she was Associate Professor of Business Finance at the Universitas Mercatorum and from 2022 she has been Full Professor of Business Economics at the Universitas Mercatorum. In 2022 she was Professor of Accounting and Budgeting at the Luiss Carli University of Rome.

She has held various positions and collaborated with companies, institutions and research bodies. Since 2022 she has been the scientific coordinator of the Master’s programme in Environmental Sustainability Management and ESG Policies for Il Sole24Ore and a reviewer for the journal Sustainability. She is currently a member of the Board of Statutory Auditors of Angelini Technologies - Angelini Group, Teqquo Srl - Angelini Group and Renovars Distribution S.r.l..

Previously she was Chairman of Cantierabili S.r.l., member of the Board of Directors of Welcome to Italy S.r.l., of Mercato Metropolitano Ltd and Statutory Auditor of MyfamilyPlace S.r.l. - Angelini Group, of IGEA Digital Bank S.p.A. and of Marchesi Grafiche S.p.A..
