Mr. Leandri graduated cum laude in Corporate Finance from the Faculty of Economics at La Sapienza University in Rome, later obtaining a Master’s degree in International Finance from Manchester University as well as a Master’s in Foreign Trade and International Finance from I.C.E.
He began his career in a consultancy firm specialising in international trade analysis, subsequently joining the Bank of Italy, where he worked as a Supervisory Inspector until 1996. He then took on a supervisory role, focusing on supervisory models and methodologies.
From 1999, he served as an Italian representative in the Basel Committee’s Risk Management Group and in the European Commission’s Operational Risk Working Group.
In February 2004, he joined Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena as Head of the Internal Audit Specialised Methods and Activities Department with the task of developing and validating the internal risk management models.
In 2007, he was appointed Head of the MPS Group’s Internal Audit Unit.
As Chief Audit Executive, he was a member of AXA’s Audit Committee and was also part of the Steering Committee of the Financial Unit of the Italian Association of Internal Auditors.
Since November 2016, he has served as Chief Lending Officer, with direct responsibility for the Performing and Non-Performing Loans Management Divisions.
He was a member of the Board of Directors of MPS Capital Services S.p.A. and is currently Deputy Chairperson of the Board of Directors of MPS Banque.
