Gianluca Brancadoro

Director pursuant to the combined provisions of the By-Laws, Ministerial Decree 169/2020, Italian Legislative Decree 58/1998 (Consolidated Law on Finance) and the Corporate Governance Code
Gianluca Brancadoro has been an independent Director of Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena S.p.A. since April 2023, where he also holds the position of Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Remuneration Committee.
He graduated with honours in Law from La Sapienza University in Rome, is a Professor of Commercial Law at the University of Teramo, a lawyer in Rome and the owner of an associated law firm with offices in Rome and Milan.
He is the author of four monographs and numerous publications on financial, commercial and insolvency law.
He advises international banking, financial and industrial groups in the areas of commercial and corporate law, banking and capital markets law and corporate crisis law, assisting in acquisitions, restructurings and other extraordinary transactions. He conducts litigation, in particular before the Supreme Court of Cassation and in arbitration proceedings, also acting as arbitrator or Board Arbitrators Chairman.
At the request of the ECB, Consob and the Bank of Italy, he has worked on the recovery of banks and other financial institutions. He was Extraordinary Commissioner of Banca Popolare di Spoleto and Chairman of the Supervisory Committee of CARIGE.
In 2003-2005 he was a member of the Ministerial Commission for the Reform of Company Law and in 2012 he was a member of the Working Table for the Reform of Bankruptcy Law.
In 2005-2009 he was a member of the Board of Directors of IVASS.
In 2014-2016 he was Chairman of Cassa di Risparmio di Teramo and Cassa di Risparmio di Pescara.
From June 2015 to August 2018, he was Chairman of the Board of Statutory Auditors of Società per Gestione di Assets (S.G.A.), currently AMCO S.p.A.
He has served as Chairman and independent Director in leading listed and unlisted companies, including AMTrust Assicurazioni S.p.A.
Mr. Brancadoro is currently an independent Director of Fondo Italiano d'Investimento, where he is also Chairman of the Remuneration and Nominations Committee.
He is a founding member of the “Amici della Biblioteca Angelica” in Rome.
He is a former member of the Board of the Spoleto Festival Foundation.
