Siena, 15 February 2022 – With regards to some rumors reported in the press relating to a potential capital increase of Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena S.p.A. (the "Bank") for an amount of 3.5 billion euros, the Bank hereby declares that such rumors have no basis in any initiative launched by the Bank.
