MPS: Turchi and Demartini formally submit their resignations

Banca Monte dei Paschi announces that, today, the Deputy Chairman Marco Turchi and director Paola Demartini formally handed in their resignations from the Board of Directors.

This formal act of resignation follows the willingness to resign already expressed by Mr. Turchi and Ms. Demartini during the BoD of 11 September in order to ensure compliance with the shareholders’ agreement entered into by the MPS Foundation, which, inter alia, provides for the entry of new representatives of the Shareholders' Agreement to the Bank's Board of Directors.

The Chairman Alessandro Profumo has acknowledged the enormous sense of responsibility demonstrated by the directors and expresses his deepest gratitude for Ms. Demartini’s and Mr. Turchi’s valuable professional and personal contribution to both the Board of Directors and the Committees to which they belonged.
