Pierpaolo Cotone

He holds a degree in Law from the Università Statale di Roma, and attended the Annual Specialisation School in Banking Disciplines - Università Statale di Roma, Faculty of Economics and Business.

He is a lawyer and auditor.

He has extensive experience in the banking sector and has held numerous positions on Boards of Directors and Boards of Statutory Auditors.

From 1978 to 1983, he was Legal and Tax Attorney at Banca Nazionale dell'Agricoltura Spa.

From 1983 to 1996, he was General Counsel of the Alitalia Linee Aeree Italiane Spa Group and Secretary of the Board of Directors.

From 1996 to 2000, he was General Counsel and Secretary of the Board of Directors of the Aeroporti di Roma Spa Group.

From 2000 to 2003, he was General Counsel and Secretary of the Board of Directors of Telecom Italia Spa Group.

From 2004 to 2015, he was Director of the Corporate Bodies and Secretary of the Board of Directors of Banca Nazionale del Lavoro , BNP Paribas Group.

From 2015 to 2018, he was Head of Legal and Corporate Affairs at RAI Radiotelevisione Italiana Spa.

From 2018 to July 2021, he was Chief of Staff to the Chairperson of RAI Radiotelevisione Italiana Spa.

From May 2023 to April 2024 he was Standing Auditor of Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena.

He has been a contract researcher at LUISS University (for 10 years at the Chair of Commercial Law and then at the Chair of Maritime Law).
He has lectured on corporate matters at the Sole24Ore School of Management, LUISS, IPSOA and the Bar Association.

Mr. Cotone is currently Chairman of the Board of Statutory Auditors of Mercitalia Logistics Spa - Gruppo Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane, Chairman of the Board of Statutory Auditors of Fondazione BNL and Standing Auditor of Tivù Srl.
