Monica Vecchiati is a Chartered Accountant and Statutory Auditor, registered with the Order of Chartered Accountants and Accounting Experts of Rome since 1988 and in the Register of Statutory Auditors since 1995.

She holds a degree in Economics and Business Administration and has completed a second-level Master’s degree in Economics and Law of Supplementary Pension Schemes, as well as a Diploma in Corporate Governance. 

With over thirty-eight years of professional experience, she has developed extensive expertise in corporate governance, statutory auditing, banking supervision and advisory services for credit institutions, asset management companies, supplementary pension funds and healthcare funds. 

Her professional approach is characterised by a strong focus on transparency, internal control and risk management. She has served as both member and chair of boards of statutory auditors and audit bodies in banks, asset management companies, pension funds and reserved real estate funds, gaining in-depth knowledge of the regulatory framework applicable to supervised financial intermediaries. 

She has also developed specific expertise in banking supervision, having completed the Italian Banking Association’s specialised training programmes dedicated to the role of statutory auditors in credit institutions and to risk management in the evolving banking sector.

Throughout her career, she has also served as an independent director and as chair of control and risk committees in listed companies, as well as Lead Independent Director, thereby gaining a comprehensive and integrated perspective on governance mechanisms in regulated environments. 

She served as a Member of the Board of Directors of the National Pension and Assistance Fund for Chartered Accountants. She is registered in the Register of Court-Appointed Technical Experts and Expert Witnesses at the Civil Court of Rome and is a member of Women Corporate Directors and NedCommunity, the Italian Association of Independent Directors.
