Marcella Panucci

Director pursuant to the combined provisions of the By-Laws, Ministerial Decree 169/2020, Italian Legislative Decree 58/1998 (Consolidated Law on Finance) and the Corporate Governance Code
Marcella Panucci has been an independent director of Banca Monte dei Paschi since December 2024 and currently serves as Chairperson of the Related-Party Transactions and a member of the Remuneration Committee.
She holds a Law Degree from LUISS Guido Carli University in Rome and a PhD in "Competition Law" from the University of Perugia, as well as a licence to practise law.
She is an Associate Professor of "European Industrial Policy" in the Department of Political Science and of "Law and Public Regulation of the Economy" in the Department of Law of LUISS Guido Carli University in Rome.
Currently, she serves as an Advisor to the Minister of University and Research. Previously, she was Chief of Staff to the Minister of University and Research (2022-2024) and to the Minister of Public Administration (2021-2022). From 2020 to 2021, she was Legal Adviser to the Minister for European Affairs. She also served as Head of the Technical Secretariat and Economic Advisor to the Minister of Justice (2011-2012).
From 2012 to 2020 she was General Manager of Confindustria.
She is a member of the Supervisory Board and Coordinator of the Sustainability Committee at Human Technopole, as well as a member of the Board of Directors of the Cotec Foundation.
She has also been a member of the Board of Directors of Banca Widiba S.p.A., where she was also Chaiperson of the Related-Party Transaction Committee, and of the Board of Directors of Il Sole 24 Ore S.p.A. She has been a member of the Corporate Governance Committee of Borsa Italiana S.p.A., the Market Participants and Investors Committee of Consob, the Expert Group on Public Administration and Governance of the European Commission, the Management Committee of the National School of Administration and the Executive Bureau of BusinessEurope.
