Director

Livia Amidani Aliberti has served as an independent Director on the Board of Directors of Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena since 15 April 2026. Within the Board, she is also Chair of the Remuneration Committee and a member of the Risk and Sustainability Committee. 

Since 2012, she has held positions on the governing bodies of listed and non-listed companies subject to banking and financial supervision across Italy, the United Kingdom, Austria, the Czech Republic and Slovakia.  She has extensive expertise in corporate governance systems and has served in a wide range of roles, including executive and non-executive director, supervisory board member, and statutory auditor, across multiple sectors including banking, financial services, pharmaceuticals, industrials, and venture capital. Among her most notable appointments, from 2018 to April 2026 she was a member of the Supervisory Board of UniCredit Bank Austria AG (UniCredit Group), where she chaired the Strategy and Nomination Committee and the Remuneration Committee. Within the same Group, from 2025 to April 2026 she also served as a member of the Supervisory Board and the Audit Committee of UniCredit Bank Czech Republic and Slovakia. From 2021 to 2024, she was a Non-Executive Director and member of the Related Party Transactions Committee at Cassa Depositi e Prestiti. Between 2018 and 2021, she served as an independent Director, Chair of the Related Party Transactions Committee and member of the Control and Risk Committee at Credito Valtellinese S.p.A. From 2014 to 2025, she was a Standing Auditor at Recordati. She also served as a Non-Executive Board Member and member of the Finance, Audit, Risk and Controls Committee of Amnesty International Charitable Trust (UK) from 2014 to 2020. Earlier in her career, from 2012 to 2018, she was an independent Director at LVENTURE Group, where she was also Chair of the Related Party and Control and Risk Committees and a member of the Remuneration Committee. 

From 2021 to 2024, she was Founder and Director of The Agricult (London) Ltd. From 2016 to 2020, she served as Executive Director (until 2018), Compliance Officer and AML Officer at Quantyx Ltd (UK). From 2014 to 2018, she was a shareholder and Executive Director at Bayes Investments Ltd (UK), where she was responsible for internal controls and FCA compliance. Between 2004 and 2012, she founded Aliberti Governance Advisors, a boutique consultancy specialising in corporate governance and board evaluation. From 2004 to 2007, she also provided corporate governance advisory and training services at Governance Consulting. From 1989 to 1997, she worked at Monitor Company (now part of Deloitte), where she held the roles of Case Team Leader and Office Manager for Milan. Earlier in her career, she held positions in corporate regulation and corporate finance and credit at CONSOB, the Federici Group, and Credito Romagnolo. 

She has been a speaker at national and international conferences on venture capital, corporate governance, ESG, and gender diversity, and is also the author of research papers and editorial contributions on governance and diversity.

Ms. Amidani Alberti holds a degree in Economics from LUISS Guido Carli University in Rome and has been a Chartered Accountant since 1998. She has obtained a range of European and international regulatory and professional certifications, including FCA (UK) certifications in compliance and anti-money laundering, as well as INSEAD and Financial Times certifications for non-executive directors.
